New to Brevard, most people assume the beach is the only swimming option. It is not. Every city on the Space Coast runs its own public pools, most of them a few dollars to get in, and a handful of splash pads cost nothing at all. Here's the real, current list.
Fee Avenue Pool, Melbourne
The one locals mention first. Fee Avenue Park sits at the corner of Babcock Street and Fee Avenue in Melbourne, and the pool inside it has a shallow splash area starting near zero depth, a water slide, and a deeper lap section for adults. It's seasonal, roughly May through the summer. I could not pull this year's exact hours and admission off a live city source, so I am not going to guess at a number. Other city pools worth knowing
Palm Bay Aquatic Center, 420 Community College Pkwy SE, has a zero-depth entry, a big slide, eight lap lanes, and a diving well with two boards. Around $4 a person, with discounts for veterans and seniors. Call (321) 726-5680 to confirm it's open before you drive out, weather and staffing can close it on short notice.
McLarty Park Aquatic Center, 790 Barton Blvd in Rockledge, is a 25-yard heated pool that stays open year-round, unless the water drops under 74 degrees. Open swim runs Saturday afternoons, flat $4 cash. Call (321) 633-1870 to check the current schedule.
Cocoa Beach Aquatic Center, 4800 Tom Warriner Blvd, runs year-round with a temperature-regulated 50-meter pool, a slide, diving boards, and a separate kids' pool with a spray park attached. Call (321) 868-3240.
One honest flag: the pool at Dr. Joe Lee Smith Park in Cocoa is currently closed for maintenance with no announced reopening as of this writing. Don't plan a trip around it until that changes.
Free splash pads, no pool required
Three genuinely free options, no admission at all: Sand Point Park Splash Pad in Titusville (101 N Washington Ave), West Melbourne Community Park (3000 Minton Rd), a 12-feature spray pad, and Cocoa Riverfront Park in historic Cocoa Village (401 Riveredge Blvd). All three run daytime hours, weather and maintenance permitting. If you have a toddler who isn't ready for a real pool, this is the move.
